It’s back to school time.

I know this not because there’s a child in my house, but because I find my high school neighbor rubbing sleep from his eyes, climbing behind the wheel of black VW bug as I head out to run in the now dark morning. Which reminds me to take extra caution when crossing any streets!

AND all this talk of back to school gets me in the mood to do some creative new cooking.

I love things that I can bake in batches and freeze.
I love things that are bite size because then I can taste lots of things.
I love using what I have on hand.

Last year in Orlando, a cupcake shop introduced me to the idea of savory cupcakes…which I tend to just rename to things like bites and muffins, but I LOVED the concept.Quick healthy meal ideas - Savory Cupcakes, Muffin Tin Meals - Click for ideas to have more fun with bite sized food

Savory Ideas

That’s right those muffin tins aren’t just for, well muffins. Nothing wrong with a great muffin, but these will leave you satisfied a lot longer! Tons of breakfast ideas with eggs here, but so many options abound.

Don't sweat back to school - these muffin tin #recipes will have you out the door in a split! #healthy Share on X

Dessert Ideas

When it comes to dessert is there anything better than one’s that are pre-portioned! No debating how big a slice of pie should be, it’s automatically the right size!

But as always you know me and I’m looking for desserts that regardless of serving size aren’t going to leave me feeling bloated, icky and on a sugar crash. I love these fellow bloggers for their creativity in healthy (Or mostly healthy) treats!

I love the idea of savory muffins! I actually had an ‘everything bagel’ flavored muffin this past weekend and it’s at the top of my to-make at home list! This is an awesome round up – thanks for including my apple cinnamon protein muffins!

These look delicious! As a runner, I feel like my appetite can be all over the place and sometimes I just need a little something to hold me over in the afternoons. These give me a lot of choices.

I love the connection between health and fitness and food that delights as well as nourishes. A boring life and diet is not required or desirable for a healthy life.

I can’t get over how adorable those chili-stuffed corn muffins are! I bet those would be so good with meat or veggie chili. Great round up of recipes!

Love all of them. Mouthwatering! Can you specify if there’s a specific one that contains that highest protein grams? I really want having them as my snack but I’m really want to maintain my diet to having protein on every bite. looking forward to seeing more!
